Effective May 30, 2023, the United States Department of State (“DOS”) will be increasing certain nonimmigrant visa application fees. Fees for B-1/ B-2 Visitor (Tourist and Business) Visas and J-1 Student and Exchange Visas will increase from US$160 to $185. The DOS will increase fees for certain petition-based nonimmigrant visas including H, L, O, P, and Q category visas from US$190 to $205 while E-1 Treaty Trader and E-2 Treaty Investor fees will rise from US$205 to US$315.
Visa applicants who have already paid or will pay their respective fee prior to May 30 will not be required to pay again nor will applicants who have been interviewed and cases are undergoing administrative processing.
